TOWNSLEY Mary A. Jenks 1851 1877 Came to Cowley County Kansas 1871 with her husband and children Fred, Clara and Willie. Was a Charter member Pleasantvale Baptist Church. The first church organized here, was the first white person buried in this Hallowed ground. Wchich was donated by Mrs. William Mercer, her mother. Was the first white woman to establish a house in this community.
